Meet Renee
Handmade with heart, from the hills of Virginia
Renee has been making things by hand for almost her whole life, and she’s been selling her one-of-a-kind handmade goods for over 11 years. Along the way she built a loyal following on Etsy, with a 4.8-star rating. She started sewing as a girl, and over the years she’s added painting, ceramics, stained glass, woodworking, decoupage, crochet and paper crafts. Whether it’s one of her signature reversible bowl cozies, a hand-painted piece or something made of glass, each one gets the same care and attention to detail.
In 2025, Renee bought her own piece of the Virginia mountains and began turning it into a homestead. Between tending a growing garden, keeping bees, and dreaming up her next creation, she’s slowly building the kind of life she’d always hoped for, one rooted in making things by hand and growing what she can.
The Tea Hive brings together the things she loves most: her years of handcrafted work, a lifelong love of gardening, and her newer passion for beekeeping. You’ll find her selling in person at local craft fairs and bee festivals throughout the year, and here online whenever you can’t make it in person. Some of her pieces, especially ceramics and stained glass, are available only at events, so check Events to see where she’ll be next.
Local honey — coming soon
Renee has been keeping bees for about two years and is an active member of her local beekeeping community. She’s working toward her own honey harvest right from her Virginia homestead. Once it’s ready, her raw, local honey will be available to nearby customers, free of pesticides and additives. Interested in being notified when it’s available? Reach out at hello@theteahive.com.
